Christmas Time the Best Time of The Year

President David O. McKay (1873–1970) declared: “True happiness comes only by making others happy—the practical application of the Savior’s doctrine of losing one’s life to gain it. In short, the Christmas spirit is the Christ spirit, that makes our hearts glow in brotherly love and friendship and prompts us to kind deeds of service.

“It is the spirit of the gospel of Jesus Christ, obedience to which will bring ‘peace on earth,’ because it means—good will toward all men.”

Giving, not getting, brings to full bloom the Christmas spirit. Enemies are forgiven, friends remembered, and God obeyed. The spirit of Christmas illuminates the picture window of the soul, and we look out upon the world’s busy life and become more interested in people than things. To catch the real meaning of the “spirit of Christmas,” we need only drop the last syllable, and it becomes the “Spirit of Christ.” Thomas S. Monson's, Best Christmas Ever.

This is the time and the season of giving. Let us remember that this is the month that we celebrate the birth of the Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ and remember that it is the "Spirit of Christ" that we are spreading.

This is Williams first Christmas and Courtney's third. To catch everyone up on my family this year this may help.

Courtney is 2 1/2 years old she is potty training right now and she is a very determined child. We have had to have her walk around in a shirt with no pants over the weekend to get her started on this but now she is doing very well she just needed the little nudge that put her over into wanting to potty train. She is know the potty Queen she doesn't have any problems. She's My Girl!!!

William is getting very animated he growls at us and tries to bite us with his five teeth. He jumps up and down like a mad man and he walks around the table he is unable walk on his own but he is getting close. The favorite part of my day is to watch him and his dad growl and butt heads just laughing and having fun. We play horse with Courtney and William. Courtney has decided that William is ok most of the time until she decides he isn't.

The Family is working towards moving to the next step in life MEDICAL SCHOOL!!!!! We are differently ready to start medical school and get one step closer to some financial freedom. James and I have been married for three and one half years and are still having a lot of fun. we have been play some games on the computer called mob wars. We have to share computers because James Computers have all died!!! We haven't figured out why his computers are always targeted they seem to just up and die. But that is life when the going gets tough the tough get going I have to keep telling myself because other wise I would be to tired from fighting this thing that we call life.

The wonderful thing about life is you get to keep going tell you get it right most of the time. The focus this Christmas is to be grateful for what we have and we have a lot. I have the most beautiful family in the world, we have our health, a roof over our head, food to eat, and a very strong family support center. We can do anything with the family we have they are the most supportive and helpful I think that I could ever ask for.

I'm glad that everyone has read my blog. We had an exciting weekend, James' interview went well; he like the campus very much, and I thought the town was a cute little town. Lewisburg had some fun little historical sites and one of the four Carniage Halls that Mr. Carniage built. We are close to many historical sites which I would enjoy. Courtney and William stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Bishop, and from the sounds of it they had fun as they always do when they are with Grandparents. When Annette came to drop them off and leave, Courtney was not going to let grandma go or she was going with her. Courtney sure does love her Grandparents. Her favorite past time is calling Grandma Bishop and giving her a running commentary on what she is doing and where dad is taking her. William is being the cutest little boy he has been pulling the cutest little face, he scrunches up is nose and puckers his lips and makes breathing noises. He is crawling and being a busy body. I love being a mother, there is no greater calling then being a mother. I have the most beautiful children in the world, Yes, I am bias!!!

The Bishops

We have had an exciting year here at the Bishop's Home! Just recently I had my bike stolen from SUU's Campus. The person had to cut through a thick bike lock to still it.

James loves his job at the hospital, he comes home telling about the surgery's they had at the hospital and after the surgery he tries to figure out what the body fragments are. He already sounds like a doctor. He has an interview in West Virginia on Oct. 13.

Work keeps me busy I have helped start two low-income clinics in Southern Utah and I help run the already existing clinics in cedar. When James and I aren't busy balancing time with my beautiful family, school, med school applications, work and exercise; we enjoy some quite time at home with the family. We get to enjoy visiting family every once in awhile.

My Children

If there were words to express the feelings and thoughts that I have for my children. I have always wanted to express my feelings like the great authors that I known, but here goes.

Courtney Ellen, my eldest! She is the most beautiful, intelligent, exuberant person I have ever meet. She is some much like me and yet some much like her father. I have watched her spend hours so concentrated on what she is trying to figure out and then have no attention spend the next minute. She is not a morning person much like her father, don't wake her up unless you are prepared to deal with a grump. Have I told you she is 2 and she has acted like this from the beginning. She is probably the most determined child I have ever known; I thought I had the corner on that trait. She is full of smiles and she is one of her mothers joys. I love to hear her laugh and to hear her say help me, help me! To her helping me way too much with the cleaning of the house which I really do love. She mimics her mother and that terrifies me to death.

William James, my smiley baby, I can walk into his room at 6:00 am and he is so excited to see me. He squeals and kicks his feet in the air. What I love about William being a morning child is that means while everyone else is a sleep my little men Mr. William gets mommy time. We get to share some alone time with each other it is hard to give him the attention that Courtney got from birth but we take those special moments. William is know 8 Months old and is crawling he is always on my heels crawling fast and to stay up with me. He pulls himself up to the tables. He hasn't developed as fast as Courtney with his motor skills but he is definitely a big boy! His head is still bigger but the rest of him is still big.
